FAQ'S

Q. Why do you do a Risk Assessment?

A. Because we are responsible operators.

There are risks in virtually everything we do. Driving a car, climbing a ladder, even chopping an onion.

Flying a drone also carries an element of risk. For this reason, it is very important that responsible operators of drones do everything they can to mitigate the likelihood of an accident by completing a risk assessment. The airworthiness of the drone and hazards at the flying location are just two of many factors that need to be considered.

Q. How do I actually view my photographs and videography after the drone has completed the flight?

A. For every flight, the drone has a brand new Sandisk Pro Micro SD card installed into it. This is a clean way of working and avoids any contamination between different clients.

This Micro SD card captures and saves the photography and videography taken by the drone.

After flight and payment, the Micro SD card is given to you at no additional cost. This deals with any issues around copyright.

By agreement, we may ask if we can use some photos for our platforms, that will be entirely up to you of course.

NB. You will need a Micro SD card to USB adapter. If you haven't got one we can provide one to you for £15

Q. I know someone with a drone, can't they do it instead?

A. Yes they can. But are they competent to complete the flight and have they the required skill level?

Have they registered their drone and got an Operator ID and Flyer ID?

Is their Operator ID displayed on their drone?

Have they got Public Liability Insurance?

Will they complete a Risk Assessment or will they just hope for the best?

Are they complying with the regulations as laid out by the CAA?

Will they have a spotter to help them if required?

Do they know if it’s too windy to fly?

If required, and as a courtesy, will they politely notify any relevant neighbouring properties that aerial photography is taking place? (we can do this if you would rather not)

If the answer to any of the above questions is no or not sure, that may help you to decide. Hope that helps!
